Peace and War through the lenses of photography | Photography as a means of cultural communication for peace

The Italian Youth Association for UNESCO, Lombardy Committee, organizes in collaboration with the City of Milan and Palazzo Moriggia Museum of the Risorgimento, as part of the International Day of Peace organized by the United Nations, the artist talk Peace and War through the lenses of photography. The preamble to the UNESCO Constitution states that because wars have origin in the spirit of men it is in the spirit of men that the defenses of peace must be raised. The event, close to the celebration of the International Day of Peace, aims to celebrate photography and promote the figure of the photojournalist as a key element in reading our modernity, to denounce stories of war and conflict through a dialogue
of peace. The Italian Youth Association for the UNESCO, Lombardy Committee, in the setting of Palazzo Moriggia, home of the Risorgimento Museum in Milan, will have the honor of dialoguing with Davide Monteleone, winner of numerous prizes, currently residing in Russia, and the German photojournalist Kai Wiedenhöfer, whose artistic focus deals with the theme of walls that separate nations and cities for unresolved reasons, ranging from politics to religion and economics.
